TGHBPSC: Kick Off Email

For the new ladies who want to join, this is the email I sent out to everyone. All are welcomed to participate. HOWEVER, the emails are getting hectic for a lot of people so I will be updating on the blog instead but still sending out BCC'd emails with recipes and such to everyone. Hey Gorgeous Ladies!!

It’s that time again! The Good Hair Blog Protective Style Challenge is back for a second go around and I am super excited to be sharing this journey with you all again. Last year there were about 70 participants in total. This year there are almost 90 ladies participating! How fun?! This is great because we will be to ask tons of questions receive lots of support and grow some GOOD HEALTHY hair again this year! This year the challenge will start on Monday November 19^th. I will be on Thanksgiving break from school so it’s perfect timing! Today (November 13, 2025)  I twisted my hair in mini twists and plan to keep them in for two weeks (hoping they last that long). I will be sending out a check in email on the 1^st day of the challenge and last day of the month until February 19^th so be on the look out!

Also, we will be having "Twitter Talks" and check-ins under the #TGHBPSC hash tag. Keep in mind that tweets from private pages cannot be seen. My Twitter names are @AisforALEX and @TheGoodHairBlog.  You can feel free to tweet me at both if you’d like. Also, if you have InstaGram, I made a new page just for the blog. On IG you can find photos of my protective styles at @TheGoodHairBlog as well. My personal page is @Alex_Elle but you will find the majority of my hair photos on the blog’s page. If you are submitting photos on IG use #TGHBPSC and #TheGoodHairBlog in your tags so me and the other participants can follow your journey!

Also, if anyone has an YT channel or blog please send it out (reply all), I'm sure everyone will want to follow and keep up with you and your hair styling. My YT channel is TheGoodHairBlog, I plan on making PS style videos, vlogs and growth updates over the next few months. I may even host a giveaway or two so please subscribe so you can keep up and are included! This year I also want to send out mixtress recipes via email, tips/tricks and my favorite products of the month so be on the lookout for those as well.

The point of this challenge is not only to grow healthy hair but to fellowship with likeminded women! This is a great way to network so PLEASE don’t be scared to reach out and send tips, pictures and words of encouragement. We will be hanging tough with one another for 3 months so I hope we all connect the best way we can via email, Twitter, IG and YouTube!

Thank you all for wanting to participate and I can’t wait to see photos and videos over the next 12 weeks. I am hoping to make a video this weekend to kick off the challenge!
