Hello Beautiful Readers!
Long time no blog, I have been super busy but starting today I am back in action!
For the past two months I have had a weave install in for my protective challenge.
I loved it! I am glad I was able to give my hair a much needed break.
(Weave install below)
Anyways, it took me about 45 minutes to take down my weave.
It was a pain but I got it done.
I was shocked at how much new growth I had and I was SUPER EXCITED!
After looking in the mirror for a good 10 minutes in AWE at my hair I decided it was time to wash it.
My hair was filthy and my scalp was BEYOND disgusting.
I washed with Giovanni's "Smooth as Silk" Organic Hair Care shampoo and followed up with the matching conditioner.
I purchased her "Smooth as Silk" set from Target and I must say I love it!
It took a few washes to get my hair clean and LOTS of conditioner to help de-tangle
but the end result were satisfying and I was ready to apply my Cassia Henna.
(Freshly washed hair pix below- I am 7 months natural!)
The Cassia powder smelled awful once I added the boiling water.
Kinda like wet grass. *smelly*
I added coconut oil for extra moisture and lathered it on my head.
Here is what it looked like before I put it on my hair:
*If you are going to try this BEWARE, lol, it is very messy!*
After my hair was fully saturated with the Cassia, I covered it with a plastic cap and let it sit for about 2 hours.
Rinsing it out was a pain but I used conditioner to help me do the job and after about 10 minutes, it was all out.
Final Thoughts: I will def be trying this again. My hair felt hydrated and soft after the treatment was rinsed out.
Although it is a very messy task, I plan on trying to do it every 3 months.
I would recommend that you all try it, at least once.

Very nice!! I love how you had a "Protective Style Challenge" I am challenging myself right now. It's difficult because I miss my hair! But I also know I need to give my hair a break!
Glad you're back I look forward to the posts.
Thnx!
I missed my hair too! OMG! But it was well worth the patience and time.
OMG!! YEs, my nose is not sensitive, but once you add the water..YOWSER (I uploaded a vid on my first go at it about two weeks ago)!! I almost passed out. I didn't think I would try this treatment again, but I amended it by adding Tresemme Naturals condish and oil and it was WONDERFUL
