Healthy Hair: Faux Loc Maintenance

This past two weeks has been fun! I've been rocking my loc extensions and loving it *insert hair flip emoji here*.  The older they get the better they look which I love! Many of you have been asking me how I maintain them. Below you will find what I use, how I use it and the frequency. This style, like Marley Twists, are pretty easy to keep up! Low maintenance protective styles are my favorite.

What I use daily:

Simplicity Hair Oil
If you don't have this product that's fine. Use your favorite lightweight oil. Coconut oil or grapeseed would be ideal.  I use this oil almost daily on my scalp. It's super light and absorbs great without leaving gunk and evidence behind.

Ade Vegan Hair's Cucumber Aloe Mist
I take my hair down every morning and spritz in sections

At night I sleep on a satin pillow case.

There is no science to taking care of your hair while PS'ing. You don't need a boatload of products to get the job done either. I learned that the hard way! Product build up is NO FUN. The fewer products you use, the less build up you will have. Also, less product build up means the longer you can go without taking down the style and washing. I only wash my hair once a month. Sometimes I will stretch for 6 weeks if my product usage is low. A few ladies have asked me do I wash my faux locs/marley twists; no I do not. I am too afraid that they will slip off and because I don't need to wash my hair often, not washing works for me.

Have more questions?
Leave them below.

Oh, and I do not think I will be permanently loc'ing my hair anytime soon. After having these I have figured out that although they are FUN I am NOT READY! LOL, #HairCommitmentIssues #Iwannatouchmyloosehairfromtimetotime

Is anyone else going to try these out?
