Yesterday I decided it was time for a DC.
I needed one badly.
I was slacking on giving myself one because they are SO messy.
I finally SUCKED IT UP and did it.
Below is the recipe I used:
1 cup of bentonite powder
1/2 cup of marshmallow root powder
1/2 cup of conditioner
1 teaspoon of jojoba oil
2 cups of water (for a smooth consistency)
I used my hand mixer to blend the ingredients together smoothly.
After everything was all mixed I applied
the creamy conditioner to my hair.
I separated my hair in four sections and de-tangled before applying.
(I had a lot LEFT OVER, lol. I froze what I didn't use.)
Let the application begin:
(Section 1 de-detangled before DC was applied)
(Section 1 after DC was applied)
(DC on my whole head. I left it site for about an hour. I washed my hair in sections w/
Kinky Curly's "Come Clean" Cleanser. I then conditioned with Shea Moisture's "Organic Raw Shea Butter Conditioner)
My curlies POPPED after this DC.
(I had Oyin Handmade's "Honey Hemp Conditioner" in my hair as my leave- in)
I love when my hair feels clean, soft and moisturized!
I twisted my hair up after it was all clean.
My twist out this A.M. is looking GOOD!

LOOKS GOOD! And I love Shea Moisture's products. I have recently become a fan.
Nice results!! I've been aching to try the bentonite clay but silly student budgets are holding me back! smh, lol.
Looking good tho!! :)
What made you use the bentonite as a part of deep conditioning, I thought it was traditionally used as a replacement for shampoo? TIA
My Bentonite clay is a great moisturing agent when mixed with other things. Also it removes toxins and build up from the hair and skin. My hair needed a GOOD detox. That's why I used it. :-)
hi Alex. where do you buy bentonite clay and marshmallow root powder? I want to try this but dont know where to find the products. Thx, Ashley
