Giveaway: Sunburst Extreme Hydration Cream

It's giveaway time again AND this product is right on time for the cold months ahead. Ashley of Mahogany Queen sent me her fluffy rich Shea butter mixture last week, I love it; it smells good enough to eat too, which makes me an even bigger fan. The "Sunburst" butter is great for sealing ends and using after a nice hot bath or shower on your skin. If you want to enter and learn a little more about the mixtress, click the jump! Good luck... :)

I've heard lots of good thigs about shea butter, but I haven't foud it from the stores and I'm not very eag to bought it from the net for the firt time. So I thought that this would be a good opportunity to try it. My hair is VERY dammaged because of heatstyling and it needs good moisturizes.

I initially laughed at referring to myself as a Mahogany Queen (I laugh at inappropriate moments)...

now, I smile and think of why the term epitomizes all that I am.

As a woman, I am a queen by birth. As a black woman, I am an even stronger and more fruitful queen. I am strong not only because the melanin in my skin fortifies, but also because my head is adorned by a crown of kinky&black hair. Hair that shields and protects. Hair that twists, tangles, and BINDS if I am not careful. Hair that has struggles, triumphs, and more character than most politicians.

My crown has been free of chemicals for almost three years. During this time, I have used products of many types (mainly those of my own doing), and am always eager to find something healthy and wholesome to feed her.

I ALSO enjoy the opportunity to support my fellow queens :)

I am Mahogany Queen and I come from a long line of them. I have been natural for almost 2 years after a few false starts. I finally learned how to take care of my hair and enjoy it in all of its natural glory. Being a Mahogany Queen means being comfortable in your skin and realizing your full potential as a Black woman.

I would love to try this product.

I am a Mahogany Queen because I took a bold statement of big chopping my hair at the age of 15.. (btw I am only sixteen)and recently I have inspired girls at my high school to go natural and embrace who they are.. It makes me feel empowered and honestly happy about the huge change that I made.

I'm a Mahogany Queen because I never let my circumstances get in the way of my dreams. I am strong, confidant and determined. I refuse to let anything or anyone get in the way of what I have planned for my life. Whether it be the curl of my hair or the slight bounce of my walk, I will make do anything in my power (and anything I can after that) to make sure my dreams are a reality.

I am a Mahogany Queen because I have learned to be unapologetic about my actions, especially with regards to my hair. It has taken practice, patience, and humility to ask for help, but I've made it. In life, growth is never over & as cliche as it is, my journey is my destination. Like a queen, I am walking in who I am: black, beautiful inside and out, with a gorgeous crown of kinky/coily hair.

I am a Mahogany Queen because I have determination to reach my goals whether it is to lose weight or to conquer my battle with depression. A true Queen knows it is okay to vulnerability and still remain strong. I have never been an "its all about me" type of person. That is another trait a Queen must have. I love the glow my shade of Mahogany has.

I am a Mahogany Queen because after 3 yrs of being natural and watching a gazillion You Tube tutorials, I am truly taking the the time to do my own hair. I am not internally complaining about my hair texture but instead embracing it in all its kink and thickness. I am grateful for the texture God gave me. I am managing it with care like a Mahogany Queen.

I'm a Mahogany Queen because I am happy with my natural self. I transitioned to my natural texture three years ago and never looked back. I've learned so much about my hair and about leading a healthier lifestyle overall. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made and I look forward to learning more as I continue along this journey.

It's hard for me to answer this question because I never really see myself in terms of race (I guess it's a privilege, really). But I love my hair & I've never once regretted going natural. It was a little difficult to stop relaxing in high school- especially with a mom who has long beautiful waist length relaxed hair- but it just didn't feel right anymore. Now I'm older, wiser and more confident and I guess that's what makes me a Mahogany Queen. If I won I would be using this product while I travel to London to study abroad in January. I'm a native Southern California girl who has never lived in cold weather, so I'll take all the moisture I can get!

I am a Mahogany Queen because when I look in the mirror and see me and all my glory I know my creator didn't make no mistakes on me. I LOVE WHAT I SEE. I am the QUEEN of my household of two Princesses and I need to set an example for them to so they too can mature into beautiful Mahogany Queens and pass security, love and self-esteem on to their own Princesses and Princes :-)

I am a mahogany queen because after all i have been through in my life i have unofficially given myself that title. I just started loving myself fully with the birth of my 1 year old son on jan 3 2011. After his birth i decided that i wanted him to his mother, a beautiful bi-racial butterfly loving herself from H to T in all my natural glory. I am still growing as a women, and a single mom. I dont have to much control of the events that have taken place the last to year except for 2 thing my son and my hair and as god as my witness i am going to make sure both are taken care of above and beyond what it needs to be. thank you.

Mahogany Me

Like a fine wine, aged so sweetly,
I am that Mahogany brown.
So deep, with that hint of flare,
I am that brown without a fear.
I wear it with pride along with my crown.
I stand tall in stride,
With hips not daring to hide,
Because they are mine.
I possess that tropical feel,
With that all American strength.
As my natural tress flows freely above me.
I shield my eyes from the whirlwind of my environment.
I am grounded.
The negative inhale, aids me to my exhale.
The energy of positivity,
Life and renewal.
My roots feed my soul with love like no other.
Spreading my love through these great vines,
Greatness within me, beauty so divine.
I am that Mahogany Brown with A Crown.

I am a Mahogany Queen because even though I may have $50 or less to my name and another week to go b4 pay period I can buy enough food with that to last us for at least a week, while handling and juggling all the bills by myself and taking care of home. I get through with a rough day and look in the mirror and ask myself how do I do it because I am a mahogony queen. Mahogany Queen is someone who is strong and can handle any situation and comfortable with herself and i think that is myself.

I believe I am a mahogany queen because I am a work in progress, but I always remember to keep my head up. Even though I face adversities everyday, I remember that a queen isn't perfect and she is not afraid to fail. I try to remind myself of this whenever I deal with problems and remember that if I fall it's ok. It's up to me to get back up and keep moving. I accept the faults and great things life has for me and I love myself above all. I am a moghany queen and I am great!
