After my terrible weave experience I decided to keep my style low maintenance and scalp accessible. I went back to my braider and had her cornrow one side of my hair over with a little bit of hair added, the type used for kinky twist, so that that could last longer. The other side was left loose so that I could style it as I pleased. For a few days it was twisted and I really loved the look.
To achieve the pinned up look all you need are long straight hair pins and a creative eye. I didn't really do anything special. I criss crossed the twists over one another in the back and rolled the top twist under each other in the front. I used Oyin Hand Made's shine and define as my styling aide. Voila! Simplicity and beauty at the same time. How did you wear your hair this weekend?

Alex

This is super cute! Gonna try that out when I get some more length!!
Beautiful!
Love this style, very nice!
That looks absolutely beautiful in your hair! I'm afriad to dry colors, but yours works REALLY well with your complextion, & the added black makes it pop out even more, you have georgous hair.
You're daring & ambitious; the only thing I did with my hair this weekend was flat iron it & wear it down. :-P
omg I LOOOOOVE this look!

you are soooo creative! I really feel like you could bobby pin a dish rag to your head & it'd be cute. lol. =)
This is so beautiful! I will definitely be trying this.
you can't tell me that pic on instagram has these braids. you just can't LOL
Cute! I love this!
Very pretty!
Very creative and super cute!!
That's an awesome style. :)
I have my hair similar to this now. My hair is in flat twists on one side though. I think adding the hair to help it last longer was a good idea. I think I'll add hair to both sides next time...just to make my two strand twists a bit fuller. I love, love, love the style!
What's the name of the hair dye you are using to color your hair? That color is beautiful! I've been looking for a new reddish color to transition to.
