Curly Hair Growth Chart via Naturally Curly x TGHBPSC Year 2

NaturallyCurly.com is one of my favorite curly girl resources. I got an email today with the super cute above image that made me want to start TGHBPSC again for the second year around. For those of you who are unfamiliar with TGHBPSC it's "The Good Hair Blog Protective Style Challenge." I hosted my first one last year and it ran for about 3 months. The challenge was super fun and it gave me and my readers a chance to come together, fellowship and grow our hair! Fall is here and the cold weather is on the way so I think it's time for the second annual TGHBPSC! If you are interested in participating please let me know in the comments below by simply leaving your email address.

I plan to start the challenge on November 1st and having it run until February 1st. I will send the requirements for the challenge in a mass email when it's time to begin. I am SUPER excited to start the challenge again! I have so many new ideas for this time around, along with style tips, recipe emails and more!

xoxo,
Alex

This sounds like fun. I'm always looking for new ways to wear my natural hair. I'm new to the natural movement so I'm always looking for something new. Thank you for this.

Are you going to also participate in KinkyCurlyCoilyMe's Castor Oil Challenge this winter? I have been participating in the challenge for the Fall and castor oil has really helped my hair grow thicker and also an inch longer and its only been 6 weeks! That's a big improvement for me. I would imagine that doing this challenge and the Castor oil challenge would greatly benefit hair growth. I also am an amateur natural hair blogger and I'm currently documenting my experience with the Castor oil challenge on my blog.I will also be documenting my hairstyles on my blog as well for your challenge. Here's my blog please check it out if you like, counselingnatural.blogspot.com

[email protected]. Can't wait!

I feel like I need to cut off any ends that are looking rough. Need some help with protective style creativity. Question: does anyone use that white paper trim method (basically, you put white paper under your hair and cut off any ends in which you can see through to the white paper)? My old hair dresser did this & now it's stuck in my mind.

This will be my first challenge ever! I can't wait! ;] At the moment my hair is in a flat twist mohawk, does that count as a protective style? I've had it in for one week, but when the flat twists start to look old I re-do them. Also for protection and to seal moisture, when I sleep I usually put it up in twists or bantu knots, and then take them out in the morning but that's usually every 2-3 days, lol I LOVVVEE the FROhawk look. After this hairstyle I'm going to try to do a flexi rod set.

I think there are 5 methods for faster hair growth:
1. Be careful how you treat your hair.
2. Change you lifestyle
3. Eat healthy
4. Take supplements
5. Go to your hairdresser regularly
You can read more about hair growth in http://www.the-healthiest.com/archives/294
